Experiences and observations of a recent college grad in Buenos Aires - learning the language and culture, teaching English, and all the ups and downs of the journey.

I'm a recent college grad who moved to Buenos Aires to teach English. I hope to learn Spanish, immerse myself in Argentine culture, and try to figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
I can relate to your adventure! I am in Tokyo, well the suburbs of Tokyo, teaching ESL so that I can figure out what to do with my "real" career! Perhaps it is a sickness of young Americans, feeling as though they have to have some kind of career that fulfills them competely. Anyway, you make some really accurate observations about living abroad- it's never as good or bad as you expect it is, and never in the same ways you might expect. I'm saving money in Japan- my only goal really during these economic times - but I think it's important to reallly immerse yourself in the other culture, no matter how ridiculous you think it is! Japanese culture has its large contribution into the weird and ridiculous and often very frustrating! Anyway, thanks for the blog, it's very nice to hear a relatable voice online! :)
