I am a French scientist in her mid-twenties who has recently moved to Switzerland after eight years in Scotland. I live on the shores of lake Zürich in a friendly small town called Meilen. In this blog, I will try and share with you the discoveries I make in my new home country, my passion for crafts and hand-made things, as well as my musings on life in a foreign country.

  • Thank you Nicola for your message! I have enjoyed so many things since moving to Switzerland earlier this year that I felt I should start this blog to spread the happiness to other expats/Swiss! If you feel nostalgic about Switzerland, have a look at some of my photos :-)

    • Hi! How do you like living in Switzerland? At least the climate is not dissimilar to that of Scotland, so you should be able to cope with it. Before moving to Malta, I lived (with my husband) in Walchwil, which is on Zugersee, near Zug. Do you know that area at all - it is beautiful. Mind you, all of Switzerland is gorgeous - I really miss the stunning scenery. From our apartment we looked directly onto the lake, with snowp-capped Mount Rigi beyond ... breathtaking. How are you finding all the rules and regulations? They certainly took a bit of getting used to. You cannot knock the efficiency of the transport system though - you can set your watch by it! Enjoy your time there - Nicola
