I live in a house, in a field, in a valley, with a view ... Building, The House In The Field, occasioned the launch of this site. Now, firmly embedded in our home and village, a more apt title might be ... A Life With A View... View - as in vista or opinion.

The year was 1975, I was still a student and working part time. That first couple of years I made several visits to Thailand. After graduation I moved here, not suspecting that more than 30 years later I would still be here? Though I have been a witness to the extremes of life, from the highest highs the the lowest lows, I have lived a charmed life myself and know that luck has played a part in it. For me Thailand has been many things, from a place to grow up, to now, a place to grow old.
You write so well and so evocative of Thailand. I have been away for several years and recently met another longtime expat with the same desire to retire somewhere in Thailand.
