I am originally from Tokyo, Japan. I have spent many years in Tokyo growing up, but my family also spent a few years in Los Angeles, California between my age of 5 and 7. When I was in high school, my family moved to Singapore and I spent 3 years of my high school there. I also spent a year in LA again when I was in college through an exchange program. In the past 7 years, through my husband's job, I have lived in Senegal and Okinawa, Japan. Now we live in Washington, D.C. area, but we are relocating to Jakarta, Indonesia in two months. We are very excited about our new adventure.
My American husband and I have two girls. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but also a freelance interpreter and translator. It's hard to keep a career in this very fluid life where I stay in one city for 2 to 3 years while following my husband for his job. I love it and I would not change it for anything else, but it hasn't been easy. I have been thinking about what I can do and what is it that makes me happy. The answer is in my most recent preoccupation, blogging. I feel that I finally found what makes me who I really am and what makes me fulfilled and feel proud of and enjoy the job as a stay-at-home mom.
