British guy, have lived abroad most of my working life and now recently arrived in Delhi. Working for an education company and keen to make new friends. Especially keen to meet anyone interested in organising a trip to the Himalaya for a trek or maybe some rafting; in Delhi am looking for someone who can teach me tennis or at least suggest somewhere to play! Also, is anyone interested in organising an English-language theatre society? Maybe to arrange trips to productions, organise play readings, possibly even look to put on a small scale production? I'm a trained actor and amateur/fringe veteran so would be good to meet others with similar interests.

An Indian education Posted on 08/11/2012

Last week I was in Bangalore for a week's training. I'm a policy wonk by background, and that's very much my focus in my job here, but I am also a member of the management...   Read more
Wheels and class Posted on 06/11/2012

There are many visible indicators of class and wealth in India. You can see it in the way people move, their body language towards each other, the clothes they wear (not just the quality or...   Read more

My last post was a bit gloomy, so I'm putting up a quick one to reassure everyone that I don't hate Delhi, honestly. In fact I'm feeling quite well-disposed towards it just...   Read more
The summer that never ends Posted on 16/10/2012

Readers in the UK might see the title of this post and think "how lovely". Make no mistake, this is not going to be a lovely post. This is going to be a big old moan about...   Read more
India at altitude Posted on 10/08/2012

Once again I've been very tardy about posting following a jaunt out of Delhi, for which apologies. Anyway, about a month back I hopped on a flight up to Leh, in Ladakh up in the high...   Read more
Dark and Dry Posted on 31/07/2012

If you're reading this outside India, you've probably already heard that we've been having some power problems of late. On Sunday night, somewhere around 2 a.m., I was awoken...   Read more

    • I don't think I mentioned Shakespeare. I like all kinds of theatre, and am just looking to meet people who share my interest. I find your attitude a bit confusing...
