Zimbabwe calling..

Life in Zim is huge fun, if you can keep your sense of humour. Inflation runs at over 100,000% - yes, that's a over hundred thousand! It makes the brain spin.. And it doesn't stop there.. challenges abound. Why is it so difficult to get an ID? How can you be charged interest for an unpaid bill when the bill was never printed? Why bother printing an electricity rationing schedule when the national power company has no intention of sticking to it? Come with me to explore the mayhem, the madness and the warm hospitality of Zimbabwe.

        • I would like a 100bn Zim dollar, willing to pay for it in SA Rands. I will frame it and hang it behind my toilet door, to remind me that it is a good ass-wipe, for what it is worth.

          • Thank you so much for your feedback. Having lived in Zim since 1994, I know its no joke. Misery is everywhere. My coping strategy is to try to keep a sense of humour, take comfort in small things - like a cup of tea or trying to figure out how to pay the phone bill. Although we are all getting increasingly desperate for change, most people here remember the war of independence and don't want to go back to those days. I completely understand your views - thanks for your comments.

I'm interested in buying some high-denomination (500mil and up) zimbabwean banknotes. Must be in mint condition. Pay in US$. DO you know of anybody who could be helped by some hard currency?

                • Yes it may now be the time, but in truth the time was a long time ago. As a non Zimbabwean, but who has both vistited often, cares and loves the people and the country I am ashamed that the world has looked on and done nothing, We can all joke in despair but what will we actually do to help?
Perhaps if everyone actually left the country then the pathetic little insecure despot with the lust for power and wealth and the capability of extreme cruelty and evil will get the message. Lie all you want and try and beleive your own propoganda but one day the day of reckoning will come and the world will judge you in history just as you are viewed today, an evil, stupid, racist and inhumane insult to the people of Africa, You , Robert Mugabe are an affront to the rest of humanity and the dreams of the compassionate.

So just fuck off and die, please!!

                  • How quaint and jolly down to earth. Zimbabwe is nothing short of a joke. The sham elections and iron fist regime have the country on the brink of mayhem. I now use money as fire wood, as its not worth anything by the time i wake up in the morning. People are living in fear, people are angry, the clock is ticking. If your considering coming to Zimbabwe as expat for a jolly ramble in the bush, do us all a favor and bring a rifle along, with lots of amo..for the clock is ticking, the black Hitler has drawn the line in the dust, its time to fight back, time to go under ground, time to protect the women and children, its time to join forces and hunt the rat master...if you have any reason for coming to Zimbabwe this should be your only reason. the people are ready to greet you, we have a network ready to take them down. Speak to people in the streets and you will be guided in the right direction...for gods sake its time!
