I would love to chat with you about a couple of things. My husband has been offered a job in Nigeria and I (being an RN) am concerned about what vaccinations and prophylactic meds/actions should be taken. We live in Louisiana. Please let me know what you think.

Dear Dr Blyth,
I have been reading your blog with interest, and the work you are doing in Nigeria is amazing.
I wondered if you would be able to answer a question for me! I am married to a Nigerian who is taking our son to Abia state this xmas 2009 to meet his family for the first time, our son will be 2 years old. I was due to go with them but have recently found out I am pregnant again and the baby will be about 2 weeks old when we go to Nigeria. I am a medical student at St Georges Hospital, London, and was wondering if I can go with the baby? I have spoken to my GP and she said no way, but I was wondering if you know of anyone who has done that, and what your opinion would be. I have found out that the baby can take prog and choloroquine but I know there is a lot of resistance to that, but I was hoping that if i am breast feeding, and the baby is kept under a mosquito net with anti malarial cream on it etc, the baby may be ok?
I would be grateful for your opinion. We will be going to Uzuakoli, near Umuahia, in Abia State. I have been before but not with children.

Your blog is very interesting and shows your amazing commitment to your community! I'm Mexican, my husband has been offered a job in Nigeria, which could be located in Jos or Zaria. I would like to know if you can orient me regarding how is the Sharia applied in those places, and how is to live there. Many Thanks, Claudia cmvernon@gmail.com

Good day Dr.
I have a 4 year old son and a Baby girl of 8months almost. She almost died after birth due to a coccus infection causing septecemia. She was in ICU for 5 weeks, but she is fine now. And my Son has difficulties with his lungs. We will be moving to Lagos soon. Who can I trust there with my Children's health?
I would really appreciate you feedback.
We will be living on Victoria Island, lagos
Regards Carien
