I will soon be moving to Cuba as an expat for a foreign company. I have so many questions about the life in Habana and would love to get some feedback from fellow expat who have done this move before me.
My most urgent topic would be regarding what I should bring as households materials in the container the company will charter (as in maritime freight) for me. Should I ensure to bring every appliances needed for the house (fridge, AC, washing machine ...) or would most of the "nice" houses be rented furnished ? Would I be able to bring all those without paying any import fees ?
BTW I do understand the situation of the cuban people and the huge chance I have to receive a "foreigner" salary and the comfortable situation I will be in. I dont want to appear as out of touch but I do need to prepare as much as I can the moove of my family.
I am happy to discuss any topic in English or Spanish.
