Hi all. My Khmer family took me to a temple I had not been at before still here in Siem Reap province. It is Boeng Mealea temple complex. Really a beautiful spot. We spent a few hours wandering around. I bought a day pass for Angkor which is about $38. I almost qualify for the free angkor pass. Just that close but could not get it. Then we went into Preah Vihear Province which is where the family is from. They wanted to take me to Koh Ker pyramid. I had seen this featured on a youtube video and had wanted to get there. What turned out was the day pass for Angkor does not cover admission to Koh Ker even though the agent assured Alin it would. It costs another $20 and have to drive to the ticket office which is about 20km away. It was already late in the day. We were kinda tired and still had the drive home to Siem Reap.
If you go to Koh Ker temple complex, be sure to get the ticket you need and don't believe it is covered by an angkor pass.
One day we will get back since family is from there. I want to see the pyramid!
